Telford Mind Mission Statement
Telford Mind is an independent voluntary organisation that is affiliated to National Mind. It exists to promote and support better mental health in Telford and Wrekin and surrounding areas.
Telford Mind works to promote recovery, aiming to provide high quality services for pople who are experiencing mental health issues and / or emotional distress. It also offers support to people undertaking caring roles.
Telford Mind works to promote independence and inclusion. It challenges stigma. It promotes self-confidence, self-reliance, and designs and delivers appropriate services and activities through service user participation in development and governance.
We are committed to quality and hold the Mind Quality Mark (MQM). The MQM is a robust quality assurance framework and sets out the required baseline of best practice and legal compliance in all areas of a Local Mind’s governance and activities.

Do I need to book an appointment?
Telford Mind do not offer appointments. We have a phone line that you call between the hours 10am – 5pm Monday to Friday for support: 07434 869248
Do you have a counselling service?
We do have a Counselling service – for more information please contact counselling@telford-mind.co.uk. Our Counselling service does have a charge that is calculated on household income, however this solely to cover the cost of running the service.
I see you are based within a medical practice. Is your service only open to people registered with the surgery?
No. Telford Mind offer support to anyone who is in need of mental health or emotional support.
Do I need to be referred to your service for support?
No. Whilst we are happy to receive referrals from other agencies we mainly receive self-referral.
Is your service confidential?
Yes. When accessing our service you will be asked to complete a service user record form. This outlines our confidentiality statement and will also include details of how we process your data.
Does your service have disabled access?
Yes. We are based in a modern building with good accessibility. There is full disabled access, parking and a lift. If you have any concerns surrounding accessibility please call or email and we will do our best to accommodate any needs you may have.
Are you on a bus route?
Telford Mind is based near the ski slope in Madeley on the 44 bus route. We are a short walk from the main bus stop in Madeley.
Do you charge for support?
Telford Mind has a number of free services available that are kept running by donations and grant funding. Our Counselling service does have a charge that is calculated on household income, however this solely to cover the cost of running the service.
