NEET
The project provides support and mentoring for young people who are classed as NEET to build confidence and resilience.
Support Workers will do this by encouraging individuals to take control of their wellbeing using techniques such as Active listening skills, Solution-focused interventions, support to explore coping strategies and increase Social Networks. The project aims to help the young people to make connections with the local community and voluntary sector services.
The project will benefit from an additional resource in the form of youth café.
These open sessions will offer space for conversations around Mental Health as well as offering a space for Peer Support. This will include:
- •Sessions focused on specific topics to develop knowledge or skills (e.g., managing emotions)
- •Specific activities to promote confidence and relaxation
Outreach Support will enable the staff to build trust and confidence with the young people with the view to supporting them to engage in the youth café or other identified community support.
