Perinatal Mental Health Service

Our Perinatal Mental Health Service (PMHS) supports parents and parents-to-be across Telford and Wrekin.

We offer emotional and practical help during pregnancy and up to two years after birth, connecting families to local support and opportunities to build confidence, wellbeing, and connection.

PMHS – Social Prescribing

Our Social Prescribing team provides tailored, one-to-one support for parents during pregnancy and the early postnatal period.
We help families access practical, emotional, and community support, from wellbeing activities to parenting advice, so you can feel confident and connected.

How it works:

  • Referral from your GP, midwife, health visitor, or self-referral
  • One-to-one sessions to identify your needs and goals
  • Connection to local resources, peer support, and community activities
  • Flexible support in spaces that suit your needs

PMHS – Listening Support

Our Listening Service provides informal, one-to-one support in community spaces such as Family Hubs and baby groups. We offer a safe space to talk, explore what matters to you, and connect you with support that fits your needs.

Where you’ll find us: Family Hubs, baby groups, and other community spaces.
No referral needed – come and say hello!

Roots and Rise

“From Acorns, Mighty Oaks Grow”

Roots and Rise is a series of warm, supportive wellbeing sessions for those who have accessed support services, for either themselves or their children, and are currently pregnant or have a child under the age of 2.

What to Expect

Weekly sessions, approximately 2 hours long, in a relaxed and welcoming environment, focusing on topics that matter most during the perinatal journey.

Each session is a chance to:

  • Connect with others

  • Build confidence and wellbeing

  • Learn helpful tools for you and your family

Childcare support available: We understand how important it is to feel at ease. A safe play space will be available so your child can play nearby while you take part in the session, if that feels right for you both.
